What do you think is a better color choice for a bedroom?

I'm trying to redo my bedroom and having trouble with deciding what color to paint it. I'm stuck between some kind of green or an earth tone type of brown. Also I don't know whether to get new carpet or have wood installed. Any ideas or opinions?
