Why isnt my internet working right?

well i've had wireless for years now and it's never done this until the last few months but the wireless disconnects at least once a day and doesn't come back on until i use the turn off for ten seconds trick and usually i have to unplug it for like 15 minutes before it comes back, but the wired connection (ethernet) from the very same router works flawlessly on the desk top. actually it started around the time we got the new desktop comp. but i don't think they're related but i suppose anythings possible. its weird the wireless just poof no connection at all no signal.
