Did I make the wrong choice for my first rifle?
It's a Marlin 795. Semi-automatic, 22lr, $125. I've only taken it to the range once. In that one trip, its last-shot-bolt-hold-open had some issues. Since then, I've taken some measures to fix it. If those measures don't work, I'll call Marlin. Other than that problem, the gun worked flawlessly. But that one range-trip is worrying me about the rifle's reliability. Anyway, I sometimes feel like I should have gotten a bolt-action .22 instead. Since I've only taken it to the range once, I have no idea how my rifle's going to perform after its breaking-in stage. I'd like to go shooting again, but my dad has no time to take me. I've heard both outstanding and terrible reviews on this gun. It would really suck if my first firearm turns out to be a POS. By the way, I still hate the 10/22, so don't tell me I should've gotten that thing.
